Unlocking the Cosmic Code: How Tarot & Astrology Reveal Your True Path
Visionary Playground on Substack
Have you ever felt like life was nudging you in a direction, but you weren’t sure why? Maybe you’ve pulled a tarot card that eerily mirrored your situation, or you’ve read a horoscope that felt like it was written just for you. Tarot and astrology aren’t just mystical woo—they are languages. They offer insights, confirmations, and a deeper understanding of who you are and where you're going.
But how do you use them without becoming dependent on them? That’s where the magic really begins.
A Personal Journey: From Fear to Power
Growing up in a strict fundamental Filipino Christian church, all of this—tarot, astrology, divination—was considered black magic. Even now, some of my relatives are still scared of what spirits I might be calling in. But I don’t look at it that way.
Thankfully, I had one cool aunt who introduced me to astrology when I was a kid, and I became obsessed with all things Leo. I mean, obviously. But I also had questions—how the hell are we all supposed to have the same daily forecast just based on our sun sign? That’s what irritated me most about mainstream astrology. It felt so surface-level, and I wanted more.
I will always treasure the memory of my first time in a crystal and magic shop. It was on a field trip to Capitola when I was about nine years old. We had the freedom to choose which stores to explore—most kids ran straight for ice cream, but I was captivated by the gemstones glistening in the window. I chose the crystal and magic shop, and from that moment, the love affair officially began.
Fast forward, I got tarot-certified and studied astrology with three different astrologers—each one validating my natural intuition. I gave readings for people, but eventually, I got bored. I don’t want to create a reliance on external tools. While I do believe everyone should have their chart read in depth at least once, my joy isn’t in doing readings full-time.
My best use of this wisdom? Drawing from it, referencing it in my work, and helping people activate their own intuition. Because at the end of the day, free will and self-trust are the real magic.
Tarot & Astrology in the Visionary Playground: Tools, Not Crutches
Many people think of tarot as fortune-telling, but to me, it is a conversation—one that requires both listening and interpretation. Tarot does not predict the future; it reveals the energy of the present. It shows us patterns we may not be seeing, helps us navigate crossroads, and reminds us that we are co-creators of our own destiny.
When I pull a card, I am not looking for an answer—I am looking for a story. The archetypes of the tarot exist within all of us. The Fool reminds us to take the leap, the Empress nurtures our creative power, and Death teaches us that transformation is sacred. Each card is a chapter in the human experience, and together, they weave a narrative that is uniquely personal yet universally understood.
If tarot is a conversation, then astrology is the map that guides the journey. Our birth chart is a snapshot of the sky at the moment we took our first breath—a celestial imprint of who we are, who we’ve been, and who we are becoming.
One of my teachers calls astrology a ‘soft psychology,’ and I love that. But here’s the real kicker—every soul has free will.
Translation? No matter what your chart says, no matter what the transits predict, the real question is: What does your heart say? Your soul? Your truth?
And most importantly—can you even hear it through all the noise?
Astrology does not tell us what will happen, but it tells us what is possible. It helps us understand our strengths, our challenges, and the cycles of life we are moving through. Just as the moon waxes and wanes, so do we. Just as Saturn returns, so do our lessons.
Tarot & Astrology as Mirrors: A Game-Changing Perspective
What fascinates me most is the way tarot and astrology intertwine.
The High Priestess holds the wisdom of the moon.
The Emperor channels the authority of Aries.
The Star radiates the visionary energy of Aquarius.
Each tarot card carries astrological correspondences that deepen its meaning.
When I do readings, I may pull cards based on transits. If Saturn is moving through someone’s Seventh House, a Three of Swords may appear, signaling the hard lessons of love and commitment. If Jupiter is lighting up their Second House, a Nine of Pentacles may show up, affirming that abundance is arriving.
The two systems do not contradict each other; they harmonize, providing different dimensions of insight.
The Visionary Playground Approach: Empowerment Over Dependency
Some people seek tarot and astrology out of curiosity, others out of desperation. But at their core, these tools serve the same purpose: to help us remember.
In the Visionary Playground, I don’t use these tools to dictate outcomes—I use them to help people reclaim their own agency. Tarot and astrology should never replace your own inner knowing. Instead, they act as guides that illuminate possibilities, patterns, and deeper truths that are already within you.
Whether through the flip of a card or the alignment of the stars, we are constantly receiving messages—it is up to us to listen.
Every time I read a chart or lay down the cards, I remind myself: this is not about prediction.
It is about clarity.
It is about empowerment.
It is about stepping forward—eyes open, heart open—ready to meet the next chapter with intention and trust.
