Your Week Ahead Reading 7/14 -7/21 2025
It is that time again, when Mercury heads into retrograde in Leo, so let's see what this looks like for you.
I warned you last week what to expect this week.
Saturn just recently went into retrograde which means you will feel like you will have extra work tossed your way without you feeling like you are accomplishing anything.
Add to that, Mercury is heading into retrograde on the 17th.
That is right. Mercury stations retrograde in bold, brash Leo. Communication slows down, but drama doesn’t.
Be on the look out for for performative over-explaining, tech flare-ups, and ego-driven misunderstandings.
Honestly though? This retrograde could be a lesson in learning to be quiet because not everything needs a spotlight or a TED Talk.
If you’re not feeling heard, check if you’re performing instead of connecting. Tarot-wise, pull a card on what actually needs to be expressed, and what’s just noise.
Then on the 18th, Mercury in Leo makes a sextile to Venus in Gemini.
You can call this transit charming chaos as Mercury connects with flirtatious Venus, creating space for witty comebacks, juicy banter, and delightful distractions.
Yes, even in retrograde.
Therefore, this is the day to express what you intended to say yesterday, but with added flair.
Even if Mercury’s retrograde, Venus smooths it over with a wink. Let the cards guide your next DM, email, or post.
Who needs approval when you have this much mischief and magic at your fingertips?
Those are the only notable transits for this week, but they are still quite a doozy, especially the first one!
Anyway, let’s now look and see what the cards have to say for this week:
1. Your week as a whole - Nine of Swords
2. Something unexpected that will arise - Four of Wands
3. How to stay grounded and balanced - Knight of Wands
4. Important emotion that you will feel this week - The Empress
5. Something that will inspire you - The Devil
6. How your spirit guides speak to you this week - Page of Swords
7. How to best support yourself this week - Four of Swords
Card One - Nine of Swords
This week may bring late-night spirals, old regrets, and anxious loops that replay in your head like a broken reel.
With Mercury preparing to retrograde in expressive Leo, your mind is likely working overtime, especially on past conversations or public missteps.
But the Nine of Swords reminds you of something important and that is not all thoughts are truths.
Some are projections, distortions, or just your nervous system misfiring under pressure. Therefore, don’t isolate as this card calls for gentle reality checks, rest, and compassion.
Challenge the stories keeping you up. Ask yourself: who would you be without the narrative that you’re failing or falling apart?
Card Two - Four of Wands
The good news is that even with inner chaos, a celebration appears. The Four of Wands hints at a welcome break. It may be a joyful reconnection, a creative win, or a gathering that reminds you you’re not alone.
The irony though? You might resist it at first, doubting whether you deserve joy while overwhelmed. Accept the invitation anyway.
This card could be an actual event like something playful, summery, or creative, or simply a stabilizing moment that makes you feel held.
Look for sanctuary in small community rituals: morning walks, shared meals, or laughter with someone who gets it.
Not everything unexpected is a disruption; sometimes, it’s a reminder to come home.
Card Three - Knight of Wands
Grounding doesn’t always mean slowing down. Sometimes it means giving your passion somewhere real to go.
The Knight of Wands is bold, curious, and focused as those are the qualities you need to stay centered this week.
You may feel unmoored by emotional intensity, but grounding can come from momentum such as a project, an idea, or a mission that excites you.
Channel your energy into something physical, even imperfectly. Stay aware of burnout (Mercury retrograde may mess with your pacing), but trust your fire.
This is not the week to dim down as it’s the week to move with purpose so your fire doesn’t turn on you.
Card Four - The Empress
You may be overwhelmed by tenderness. The Empress brings in lush, sensory, sometimes chaotic feelings which are love, grief, nostalgia, even hunger.
Expect to crave comfort, touch, and beauty, and maybe mourn what feels absent. This is especially during the relevant Venus sextile Mercury transit on July 18th, where your heart and mind speak more openly.
Let the feelings move through, don’t dam them up. Wrap yourself in softness.
Express care for yourself like a garden: water, warmth, and attention. Whether or not anyone sees your radiance, you’ll feel its stirrings.
This week, you’re learning how vulnerable strength can feel when it opens up without apology.
Card Five - The Devil
The Devil is not about punishment as it’s about pleasure and power. I have spoken about the Devil many times, including recently.
The truth is though what inspires you this week may come from shadowy places like obsession, rebellion, lust, or even taboo ideas.
You might be pulled toward something that feels “too much”, and that’s exactly where your aliveness is. Therefore, rather than resist, observe it.
What rules are you being dared to break? What chains do you wear because someone else said you must?
The Devil doesn’t make you bad as it shows you how to reclaim energy you’ve locked away.
Don’t be afraid to desire more. Your inspiration lives where you stop asking for permission.
Card Six - Page of Swords
This week, guidance comes through curiosity, not certainty. The Page of Swords shows that your spirit team is nudging you via sudden questions, random articles, odd dreams, or overheard phrases.
It’s not loud or mystical as it is more like an inner "hmm?" that you can’t shake. So you want to focus on that and to not ignore it. Your guides want you thinking critically and experimenting.
Don’t get too comfortable in your own conclusions though especially during Mercury retrograde, when communication is slippery.
In fact, you will want to write things down. Ask questions even if they seem dumb.
Messages may also come through younger people or people who challenge your thinking. Stay alert as truth has sharp edges this week.
Card Seven - Four of Swords
Your nervous system needs decompression. The Four of Swords wants you to rest not just physically, but mentally and spiritually.
That doesn’t mean quitting everything as it means carving out sacred stillness. Sleep more. Meditate in the way that works best for you (as I do not do well with traditional meditation).
You will want to step away from the performance of having it all figured out. Recovery is its own kind of productivity.
Mercury retrograde will tempt you to overanalyze; this card urges you to pause instead.
Let yourself go offline, both digitally and emotionally, when needed. You support yourself best not by solving everything, but by making room for healing to occur in silence. Don’t just rest as you want to ritualize it.
Needless to say, this week is a head trip. Between the Nine of Swords and Mercury retrograde in Leo, I’m watching my thoughts like a hawk and resisting the urge to spiral.
But here’s the thing, the cards say joy, clarity, even lust are hiding in the cracks. I’m learning to trust both my fire (Knight of Wands) and my stillness (Four of Swords).
The Empress says to feel it all, while the Devil reminds me not all inspiration is “wholesome”, and that’s okay.
My guides speak in questions, not signs. So I’m staying open, grounded, and maybe a little dangerous. Let’s see what sparks.
